Our warehouse sits off Hanley Road near Highway 35, about a mile south of I-94, so our trucks reach every part of Hudson quickly: the historic homes downtown along the St. Croix River near the 1855 Octagon House, the bluff-top neighborhoods around Birkmose Park and Lakefront Park, and the newer subdivisions toward Willow River State Park, five miles north of town. Hudson is the county seat of St. Croix County, and we serve homes and businesses across the county.
From Hudson we also cover North Hudson, Houlton, Somerset, New Richmond, River Falls and Roberts, and our Baldwin office handles the eastern side of the county. Across the river, we serve Stillwater and the rest of the Twin Cities. See every city on our garage door service areas page.
No, not for a same-size swap. The City of Hudson does not require building permits or inspections for same-size door replacements, though state and manufacturer installation requirements still apply. Building a garage or other accessory building over 120 square feet does need a permit, and the city’s accessory building guide caps overhead doors at 10 feet tall and requires GFCI outlets for openers. Outside city limits, the surrounding towns run their own permits. Once your garage is approved, we handle the garage door installation.
The Twin Cities area averages a January low near 9°F and about 51 inches of snow a year (National Weather Service Twin Cities office, which also covers St. Croix County; 1991–2020 normals for Minneapolis–St. Paul). Deep cold makes torsion springs more likely to snap and stiffens opener lubricant, so a fall tune-up before the first freeze prevents most winter breakdowns.
